The Bank Statement: Your savings and checking account statements benefit from organization and examination for accuracy. Students examine a bank statement to identify and compute cleared checks, deposits, purchases, and fees to audit a statement to balance with a check register.

Students seek inaccurate budget data as a key to reducing wasteful costs.

Budget: Rent or Buy?: Living costs extend beyond rent or a mortgage. Students compute common utility, tax, maintenance, and housing costs to compile a monthly expense summary to help choose to live in a house or an apartment.  Anticipating future needs and financial goals are used to create a realistic action plan.

Driving Time, M.P.G. Cost: The cost of a car extends beyond the monthly car loan payment. This lesson travels with students on a road trip as they compare the costs of driving a vehicle on an extended trip. Class will compute daily commute costs on a monthly basis to travel to and ​from work.

Forecasts, ​Predictions: Have you ever wanted to predict the future? Students will practice the ability to recognize variances in data and use trends to build future-looking charts and graphs to yield decisions. Future data drawn from past results is a tool that may be used to monitor cost trends and make predictions for future results.

Taxes ​and Payroll: What are all the lines on my pay stub? What you are paid and what you bring home will often vary. This class describes different payroll taxes as students inspect pay stubs to solve for the missing data and theorize on payroll amounts. Percents, decimals, and problem- solving are applied.

Commission and Bonuses​: Proven performers may earn extra money known as commissions or bonuses. When used effectively this motivation tool encourages employees to work toward the goals of a company. Student evaluate programs program for cost-effectiveness and offer improvements for added motivation.

Grocery Shopping: Coupons, sales, BOGO's and everyday low prices, which product to choose? Students will formulate a plan to purchase their shopping list for the least amount of money. A food shopping discussion with choices to purchase, will the class achieve the grocery budget?

Is A Sale ​A Savings?: Ten for $10, buy five get five, limited time .. attention- grabbing, but is the sale going to save you money? Students examine promotion terms and compute prices to build an equal price and quantity baseline. Students evaluate price, quantity, and usage to consider when a sale is a savings.
